The Yard

The yard is based on the famous Hamilton road in Newmarket. There is a friendly, professional feel to the place. Happy horses and people. There are paddocks, where every horse is turned out after exercise each day, to ease themselves off, have a roll, and gain some more essential vitamins from the pasture. ‘Having the luxury of the paddocks means that the horses have a chance to be in their natural environment – fresh air, a roll and a buck is fantastic for them physiologically and mentally’. There is the swimming pool just around the corner and immediate access to Southfields training ground and Warren Hill is used everyday for the jumpers. In all, it is a brilliant location.

The horses are stabled on a thick bed of paper, fed the finest feed and top quality dust free haylage. ‘A dust free environment is a must. An athlete does not inhale dust and eat burgers all the time. They also do not drink chlorine. Thus their water is filtered to get the purest that is available.’

Training Facilities in Newmarket

Are second to none. There are 50 miles of turf gallops and 17 miles of artificial surfaces. All of which are ideal for both Flat and Jumping horses. The schooling facilities are second to none - a loose school, nursery fences, small hurdles, French hurdles and fences. 'Teaching horses to jump well in Newmarket is a joy. They enjoy the variation that one can give them and the fences are kept in superb order'
